Information we collect
The information we handle depends on how you use the site:
- Business listing requests: business name, city, service categories, contact name, email address, phone number, and any optional website or message you submit.
- Directory suggestions: the shop name and city for a missing business, or the listing detail you identify as incorrect, plus any details you choose to provide. These forms do not ask for your name or email address.
- Owner sign-in: the directory’s private review area uses Clerk for authentication. Sign-in information is handled by that service when the authorized owner accesses the review area.
- Abuse prevention: when a suggestion is submitted, the site creates a one-way hash from the request’s IP address to enforce rate limits. It stores the hash with the time of the successful submission; rate-limit records are scheduled for cleanup after 24 hours. The site does not store the raw IP address in this rate-limit record.
- Advertising technologies: Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies and receive information from your browser when ads are displayed or measured. See Google’s information about how it uses data.
How we use information
We use submitted information to review business listing requests, manage directory listings, consider correction and missing-shop suggestions, respond to privacy requests, protect the suggestion form from spam, and operate the site. Information submitted in a listing request is used to review and follow up on that request.
Retention and security
Listing requests and suggestions may be kept as needed to review submissions, maintain directory information, handle follow-up, and meet legal or operational requirements. The hashed suggestion rate-limit records are scheduled for deletion after 24 hours. Public listing information may remain in the directory while it is maintained.
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you submitted. You can also ask us to remove or correct a business listing request or suggestion. To make a request, email vanoverloopdalton@gmail.com. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.
For advertising preferences, use Google Ad Settings or your browser’s cookie controls as described above.
Children and outside links
This directory is intended for people seeking automotive services and is not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the site, contact us so we can review the request.
The site may link to third-party business websites and services. This policy does not cover their sites, content, or privacy practices.
Changes and contact
